Science Reflection

I really enjoyed learning about the astronomy unit in science. I like astronomy because I have always wanted to be an astronaut and I loved the idea of there being thousands of other galaxies in this vast universe. Some of the things I learned in science are about plant and animal cells. Each classmate presented their knowledge of a cell’s parts, either plant or animal, to the class as a power point. We also learned about the six energy sources and how they make electricity. On this project we were paired with partners to make a brochure about either wind, solar, biomass, oil, coal, or water. Mr. Reduzzi furthermore taught us how to complete and write our own lab in preparation for the science fair.

I can apply my knowledge of plants when I am gardening so I know if it is a vascular or non-vascular plant and I know that a plant needs water, sunshine, and, soil; so now I can have a healthy, happy garden. Since we learned about the water cycle and physical and chemical changes I know what happens when water boils when I am cooking pasta. After the astronomy unit I know what constellations are in which season and I know how the stories of constellation started with the Greeks. I have learned many exciting things in science this year but I am most excited about how I am going to use this knowledge and how Mr. Reduzzi prepared me for the adventure ahead.
